The annual “Joy of Sharing Toy Drive,” sponsored run by United Way of West Central Connecticut headquartered in Bristol, wrapped up its collection Thursday afternoon, when donations from area businesses and donors filled the conference room and spilled over into adjoining rooms at their offices on North Main Street.
The toy collection, for children ages 3 to 14, provides the following organizations that have compiled lists of children with specific requests:
- Wheeler Clinic
- God’s Grocery Store
- Bristol Boys and Girls Club after school program and Cambridge Park Clubhouse
- Bristol Public Schools Family Resource Centers and Adult Education
- Bristol Housing Authority
- Grace Food Pantry
- New Horizons Living Center
- HRA Bristol
- The Salvation Army
- Greater Grace Apostolic Church
- Plainville Early Learning Center
- St. Vincent DePaul Shelter
- Meals for Neighbors
- Imagine Nation
Aside from United Way, sponsors include the Barnes Group and Webster Bank.
Cash donations for the purchase of toys are also accepted. For information, contact United Way community impact coordinator, Nancy Micloskey at (860)582-9559 ext. 402.
All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
