Crash on Wolcott Road yesterday results in fatality

The initial investigation of a fatal car crash yesterday afternoon shows that the driver of the car that was traveling southbound on Wolcott Road crossed over the double center line. The vehicle was then struck by a northbound vehicle by the injured driver.

The Bristol Police Department responded to the area of Wolcott Road, north of Old Wolcott Road, at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday for a serious two vehicle crash with injuries.

First responders provided medical aid to both operators. One operator was transported to an area hospital to be evaluated. The second operator, who had been traveling southbound and crossed over the double center line, was pronounced dead at scene.

The Bristol Police Department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to further investigate.

The names of the operators will not be released at this time, pending next of kin notifications.
