Bristol Police identify deceased victim whose death is being investigated as the result of suspicious activity

The person whose death is being investigated for having occurred under suspicious circumstances has been identified as Bristol resident, 83-year-old Diana Jones of Morningside Drive West.

On Monday, Dec. 25 just after 11:30 a.m., the Bristol Police Department responded to a calll at Jones’ residence for a wellbeing check. Responding officers, assisted by the Bristol Fire Department, located a deceased elderly female inside a bedroom of the home.

The circumstances at the scene appeared suspicious, and as a result the incident was investigated as a potential crime. The same evening, the Bristol Police and the Connecticut State Police processed the scene with assistance from the State’s Attorney’s Office from New Britain. Bristol Police Detectives were able to locate next-of-kin to make notification.

The Bristol Police Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating this incident, and more follow-up is required. Any further information that becomes available for the public will be disseminated through press releases.
