Schools in Bristol have a two-hour delay this morning, so that Public Works crews might clean up after last night’s rainstorm, following the snow storm this weekend.
Other closings and delays include the following:
- Bristol Adult Education, no morning classes
- Bristol Adult Resource Ctr., 90-min. delay
- Bristol Adult Resource Ctr., no transportation
- Bristol Child Development Ctr., opening at 9 a.m.
- Bristol Tech Education Ctr., 2-hour delay
- Bristol’s parochial schools, 2-hour delay
- St. Paul Catholic High School, 2-hour delay
At last night’s city council meeting, Mayor Jeffrey Caggiano and several council members thanked Public Works director Ray Rogozinski for the work his department did over the weekend. Council member Cheryl Thibeault also made a pitch for the department, which is down plowing contractors and is using trucks and drivers from Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services and Water and Sewer to clear streets.
Thibeault encouraged plowing contractors to contact Public Works. In addition, she encouraged residents whose streets have not been plowed during a future storm to contact the Public Works dispatcher at (860) 584-7791.
All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
