Spencer Bossi-Johnson, a 2013 graduate of Bristol Central High School, has qualified to compete for the United States Olympic team in the marathon.
The trials race will be this week on Saturday, Feb. 3, in Orlando, Fla.
Spencer-Johnson first ran for Coach Tamara Stafford-Kirk as a freshman on the Rams’ cross-country team. Now he has a chance to be an Olympian.
Spencer-Johnson’s best time in the marathon is recorded as 2:17.15.
His accomplishments as a runner include:
- Winner, 2021 San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon
- 11th- 2023 USATF Cross Country Championships on first-place team
- qualified for USATF Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 10,000 meters
- member of 2nd-place team at 2016 MAAC Cross Country Championships
