Nominations are now open for the for the 2024 All Heart Parks Advocate of the Year Award, which recognizes a volunteer in the community who has made significant contributions to improving the quality of the Bristol Park system.
Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to Bristol parks and recreation, either in the form of land, service, equipment, in-kind labor or other relevant forms of donation or assistance.
Active commissioners and current elected city officials do not qualify. Past commissioners and city officials may be considered. Applications are open through March 29, and those interested in applying for or submitting a nomination for the award can access the form at BristolRec.com.
“Whether it be stewardship, advocacy, leading programs, championing new projects, and/or other kinds of volunteerism – we want to know and we want to celebrate and honor those contributions,” said Community Engagement Coordinator, Erica Benoit, in the release announcing that nominations are now open.
She said she is looking forward to “shining a spotlight on the remarkable community members who dedicate their time, energy, and talents to making a difference and strengthening the fabric of the Bristol community.”

All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
