Eastern boys basketball gets big win in Middletown behind 26 point performance from Jordan Chisholm

Basketball

MIDDLETOWN – The Bristol Eastern boys basketball team pulled out a tremendous 68-60 victory at Middletown on Thursday night, moving to 13-3 overall on the season.

The Lancers trailed going into the fourth period of play but managed to score 13 straight points midway through the frame – turning a 50-45 deficit into a 58-50 cushion with 4:12 left in regulation.

“One of the biggest talking points we had before the game and even after the game was would we have won that game in December?” Eastern coach Bunty Ray said. “I think everybody understands that we’ve just grown as a team.”

In an overly physical affair, Jordan Chisholm blasted home seven three-pointers to post a game-high 26 points while Brayden Dauphinais added 15 for the Kingstreeters.

Middletown (9-7 overall) was led by Quadir Murphy who scored 15 points.

The Blue Dragons led by a point (16-15) after one period but Eastern notched 16 second quarter points to tally a 31-28 halftime push.

Eastern had a bit of trouble converting in the third tilt, trailing 47-45 going into the final eight minutes before putting together a 23-point fourth to eventually go ahead by 12, cruising to the win in the end.

Eastern is back in action this Saturday in Bristol, squaring off against Watertown in a non-conference affair.

Game time is at 12 p.m.
