Henryk Mielcarek, 83

Henryk Mielcarek, 83, of Bristol, passed away on Sunday, April 28, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 28, 1941, in Germany, son of the late Stanislaw and Wiktoria (Matczak) Mielcarek. Henryk was the loving husband of Lucyna (Marchelska) Mielcarek for 65 years.

Henryk lived a life filled with warmth, simplicity, and profound faith. He was a skilled butcher by trade, dedicating years of his life to the craft. After retiring from Atlantic Ventilation, Henryk embarked on countless adventures around the world alongside his beloved wife. They often traveled to Poland, mainly his hometown of Mieroszow and the town of Elk where they settled and started a family. Henryk was a man of simple pleasures. He found solace in the quiet tranquility of fishing, the thrill of mushroom gathering, and the beauty of bird watching.

One of Henryk’s greatest joys in life was being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved telling them stories of his childhood and adventures. Their laughter filled his heart with warmth, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He always put his family first and worked tirelessly to ensure their well-being.

A true romantic at heart, Henryk loved nothing more than getting dressed up and dancing the night away with his beloved wife. Their love story was one of devotion and companionship. Though Henryk may no longer be with us in body, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Besides his wife Lucyna, Henryk is survived by his daughter Iwona Nemets of Florida; sons Tomasz Mielcarek and his wife Anna of Bristol, Wojciech Mielcarek and his wife Barbara of Poland; grandchildren Kamila Blank and her husband Kirk, Klaudia Mariano and her husband Ryan, Dorota Mielcarek, Alicja Paci and her husband Chris, Robert Mielcarek and his wife Natalia, Cezary Mielcarek and his wife Marta, Martyna Mielcarek and Nel Mielcarek; great-grandchildren Corbin, Casper, Colton, Noah, David, Enzo, Nico, Józef, Liliana, and Malwinka; brothers Andrzej Mielcarek and his wife Urszula of Bristol, Ryszard Mielcarek and his wife Irena of Poland and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 7, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol starting at 9 a.m. until a procession will begin to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 510 West St., Bristol for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
