Bristol Central track athletes qualify for Nike Outdoor Nationals

Bristol Central’s track teams ran in some relays last night at the Greater Hartford Invite to try to qualify for the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Ore., next month. 

The Rams ran two boys teams that both qualified for the Championship Sprint Medley Relay at Nike. 

Cassias Breland, Ant Paulino, Rowan Hennessey, Isaiah Fabrizio 3:39.74

Noah Georgakopoulos, Tristian Toussaint, Aiden Georgakopoulos, Landon Sisson 
3:48.46

One Girls team qualified as well.

Gabby Drewniak, Sadie Greaves, Lynae Lewis, Sophia Stark 4:26.42

Central has a large number of qualifiers for the Nike Outdoor National Meet this year in addition to the relays above:

  • 4×400 Hennessey, A. Georgakopoulos, N. Georgakopoulos, Lopez, Breland
  • 4×800 Hennessey, Lopez, Wininger, Fabrizio 
  • Patrick Wininger 2k Steeplechase
  • Wyatt Gibson Javelin
  • Triple Jump Will Postell, Ant Paulino, Nate Davis
  • Freshmen Girls 100 Laylani Cespedes
  • Girls 4×400 Stark, Lewis, Drewniak, Amara, Greaves

Coach Tamara Stafford stated that “The Nationals are beyond the high school season so families must pay or fundraise to bring their athletes. The kids are doing some raffles that will be promoted via social media.”
