The Bristol Eastern girls lacrosse team completed a season sweep over BC Friday night at Bristol Eastern’s Alumni Field while also celebrating senior night. The 15-4 win for the Lancers came after some time was spent celebrating the following seniors and their families: Megan Krok, Vanessa Drury, Emma Stavens, Gabby McLay, and Jayna Hatcher.

The Lancers quickly got on the board on a goal by Vanessa Drury. She displayed a great hesitation move that put Central’s defense to sleep momentarily and then blasted a shot. Central answered with a goal by Kaylynn Lapointe. The Lancers then went on a three-goal explosion by Emma Stavens, Harper Dauphinee and Leah Roy.

Harper Dauphinee has seen the BE vs BC rivalry bring out the best in her as she registered three goals, two assists and six ground balls.

Leah Roy was on the offensive attack for the Lancers with two goals and three ground balls. Alaina Joy also got on the scoring scene with a goal and a couple ground balls.

Vanessa Drury finished with three goals and an assist while Emma Stavens had five goals and an assist.  Those six points by Stavens gives her 100 points on the season with 74 goals and 26 assists. Those are program records with the post-season remaining.

The Lancers start off with a CCC semifinal game at home vs Lewis Mills Monday night at 5:30 p.m. at Alumni Field. The following week they’ll have a first round CIAC opponent still to be determined.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
