The chairman of the Bristol Board of Education and the acting superintendent of Bristol Public Schools emailed parents early this morning to inform them that they were recently made aware of alleged state testing irregularities at Ivy Drive School.
“We take these allegations very seriously and have reported such irregularities to the State Department of Education,” board chair Shelby Pons and acting superintendent Iris White write in the email delivered through ParentSquare.
“The building principal at Ivy Drive School has been placed on administrative leave and we will announce shortly whom shall serve as the Interim Principal during the pendency of this matter.”
The email asserts that the administration intends to cooperative fully with the state or any outside entity it designates for the duration of the investigation.
“In other to preserve the integrity of the investigation and maintain student confidentiallity, we cannot provide any further information a this time,” the statement continues.
The email assures parents that “the education and well-bring of our students remains the district’s foremost concerns.”
