A documentary film produced locally on homelessness in central Connecticut, “No Way To Live,” received not one but two Telly Awards, it was announced last month.
Under the category series-documentary: social video, “No Way To Live,” received a silver Telly Award. In the general-documentary: long form (above 40 minutes) category, the film earned a bronze award.
“No Way To Live” was produced by a local nonprofit, Productions for Change, founded by Bristol resident, Thomas Mazzarella. It premiered at the Rockwell Theater on Memorial Boulevard early in March.
Mazzarella and Productions for Change received credit for the production, Cyndi Simms, of the Sharpest Pencil, and Tony Mazzarella, of Mazzarella Media, received writing credits.
The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 to honor local, regional and cable television commercials and has evolved to include branded content, documentary and social media.
Today, the Telly Awards celebrate “the best work in the video medium in an exciting new era of the moving image on and offline,” as stated on the website.
They receive over 12,000 entries globally from six continents and all 50 states. The awards this year “represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.”

All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
