Olivia Norrie and Isabel Paolino have been named salutatorian and valedictorian, respectively, for the Bristol Central Class of 2024, the school announced recently.
Salutatorian
Norrie is the daughter of Monique Norrie and the late Scott Norrie.
She attended Chippens Hill Middle School before starting at Bristol Central. She achieved her honor in a class of 305 seniors, finishing her high school career with a G.P.A. of 4.6439.
Norrie earned Advanced Placement credits in Seminar, Government and Politics, Psychology, English Language, Statistics, and English Literature. She has also earned UConn/ECE credit in “If You Love It, Teach It,” and Environmental Science.
Norrie volunteered countless hours with the Interact Club, assisted teachers as a service learner, and served as a role model and mentor in her role as a Rambassador.
She is also a member of the National Honor Society, a recipient of the Harvard University Book Prize in 2023 and an AP Scholar with Honor. She was selected to represent Bristol Central at Girls State and also took part in the UConn Summer Lead Program.
Norrie will continue her education at Wesleyan University in the fall, studying Government.
Valedictorian
Paolino is the daughter of Sumaia and John Paolino.
She attended West Bristol before starting at Bristol Central, and Bristol Central she achieved a G.P.A. of 4.7264.
Paolino earned Advanced Placement credits in Human Geography, United States History, Seminar, Government and Politics, English Language, Statistics, English Literature, Calculus AB and Calculus BC. She has also earned UConn/ECE credit in Chemistry, Environmental Science and Physics.
Paolino is not only a member of the National Honor Society but its president. She is a recipient of the Yale University Book Prize in 2023 and an AP Scholar and a Student Representative on the Bristol Board of Education. She is also a proud member and president of the Interact Club and a four-year student-athlete and senior captain of the Bristol Central Girls Swim and Dive Team.
Paolino will continue her education at the University of Connecticut in the fall, studying Actuarial Science.
