Bristol Eastern announces top 2 students in Class of 2024

Liam Gagnon and Preston Guarda have been named Bristol Eastern High School salutatorian and valedictorian for the Class of 2024, respectively, the schools announced recently.

Salutatorian

Gagnon has achieved the Seal of Bi-literacy and AP Capstone as well as completed a heavy load of classes that includes many AP classes and UConn classes.

Gagnon is the treasurer for the Class of 2024, as well as a four-year member of the Model UN. 

He has extensive volunteer work in the community with his participation in the Special Olympics, Wreaths Across America, and worked as a Junior Volunteer with Bristol Hospital. 

In the fall, Gagon will attend Ohio State University as a Biomedical Engineering major.

Valedictorian

Guarda has taken a variety of challenging courses over his four years, including many AP and UConn credit-earning classes. 

Guarda has been active in the school and community. He is class Vice-President, National Honor Society President and was a representative at CT Boys State.  He has volunteered at Indian Rock and for the Bristol Barnstormers. 

He is a four-year member of the Soccer and Baseball teams. 

Guarda has also earned distinction as the C.A.B.E Leadership Award recipient and CAS-CIAC Scholar Athlete. 

In the fall, Guarda will attend UConn and major in their Management and Engineering for Manufacturing program.

  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
