A feature film based on stories from the Bristol Boys and Girls Club, “From the Clouds to the Underground,” will have a red carpet premiere this Saturday evening, July 7, at the Rockwell Theater on the Boulevard.
The BBGC event website provides a marketing trailer with director Dan Baan, who describes the movie as exploring seven lives “through a kaleidoscope of perspectives from character to character” and providing “an audiovisual odyssey from live-action to animation.”
The film also includes an original song of the same name, performed by local talent James Papapietro and written by Papapietro and Nathan Button, who were the group behind The Electric Shoes.
The film has been chosen to play at film festivals in Hollywood, London, Las Vegas and Dubai. At the Five Continents Film Festival 2024, the film won awards for best young actor and best editing.
All tickets sales from Saturday night’s performance will fund a Future Filmmakers Project for BBGC members. The film begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. For online tickets, go to: www.bbgc.org/movie.
All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
