Bristol American Legion begins season impressively with two wins over Oakville on Tuesday and Wednesday

Bristol’s American Legion baseball team travelled to Oakville Tuesday night and then hosted the same team on Wednesday. The sites of the games were different, but the results were exactly the same, as Bristol swept the two games with impressive pitching and hitting performances.

In the first game on Tuesday, Bristol put together a 14 hit attack to cruise to a 14-0 win on the road.

Ryan Maglio dominated on the mound, going the complete five innings of a mercy-shortened game, giving up only two hits and striking out ten Oakville batters.

Maglio also led the offense, collecting three hits, including a double. Caleb Molinsky had a single and a double, and Tom Pirog and Jedric Sutula had two hit nights.

Bristol scored five runs in the second and the fifth innings. Bristol’s fourteen hits, combined with six Oakville errors led to a merry-go-round of Bristol runners throughout the game.
