Shawn Paul Meehan, 37, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 10. He was born on March 26, 1987, in Bristol, son of Jennifer Meehan Brown and her husband Josh Brown and the late James W. Vanden Heuvel.
To know Shawn was to know his infectious laugh. He spent his early years skateboarding with his lifelong friends. He was an avid gamer. As a member of the Burlington fish and game club, he found peace in nature, especially when teaching his son Archie things he enjoyed; skating, fishing and strengthening his green thumb.
Shawn spent his final days doing what he loved most, spending quality time with his best buddy Archie, family and friends.
Besides his mother and stepdad, Shawn is survived by his wife Vanessa Meehan of Harwinton; son Archer James Meehan; sisters Amanda Gross of Bristol and Jessica Farina of New York; a niece and nephew Marlee Maio and Dylan Brown; maternal grandparents Gerald and Lorraine Meehan, his paternal grandparents the late Jack and Kate Vanden Heuvel, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 14, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
To leave an online message of condolence, share a memory or a photo, please visit Shawn’s tribute page at www.OBrien-Funeral Home.com.
All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write
