At some point this season, Bristol’s American Legion team will have to face a team not named Oakville, but for now they are very happy to be 3-0 after the first three games of the season have been against that very team.

Bristol jumped ahead from Municipal Stadium in Waterbury with a three run first inning and never looked back in gaining their third straight win with a 10-2 verdict Thursday night.

Bristol combined a ten hit attack with nine walks from Oakville pitchers to again have men on the bases all night.

Rocco Spirito was two for three, including a double and two RBI’s. Caleb Simard also had two hits for Bristol, and Jose Feliciano had three RBI’s on the night.

Declan Schenck got the win, going five innings and giving up two runs (only one earned) and four hits while striking out seven.

Gavin Colvin pitched two strong innings of shutout relief, allowing one hit and striking out three.

Bristol is now 3-0 early in the campaign.

They travel to Milford of Zone 4 Saturday morning for a 10:00 a.m. contest at Jonathan Law High School.
