Bristol American Legion baseball team splits weekend games with a win at Milford and their first loss of the season at Norwalk

The Bristol American Legion baseball team won their fourth straight game to open the season on Saturday with an 8-3 victory over Milford.

Sunday saw the Bristol bats go quiet for the first time as Norwalk’s Charles Depalma spun a one-hitter in a complete game 7-0 victory for home-standing Norwalk. 6/15/24 Bristol 24 Senior at Milford 24

Saturday morning in Milford, Bristol pounded out nine hits and added nine walks in another strong offensive showing, an 8-3 win. Rocco Spirito had a huge double for three RBI’s and Brian Grabowski and Brayden Schenck had two hits apiece to pace the attack.

Caleb Molinsky went 4 and 1/3 innings to get the victory. Molinsky struck out five while giving up six hits

With the win the team’s record improved to 4-0.

Sunday, June 16. Norwalk 7- Bristol 0

Norwalk’s Charles Depalma pitched a one-hit masterpiece against Bristol on Sunday. He struck out eight Bristol hitters, but did allow four bases on balls and two batters were hit by a pitch.

Connor Cyr got the only hit for the Bristol squad and that was a single.

Tom Pirog gave up eight hits and six runs to take the loss, but only two of the six runs for Norwalk were earned.

With the loss, Bristol drops to 4-1.
