Nate Pirog has had an outstanding high school baseball career at Bristol Central High School.
As a senior this year, Pirog pitched 52 innings, going undefeated with a 6-0 record. He recorded 86 strikeouts and maintained an ERA of 1.30, earning him spots on the All-Conference team, the Senior Select All-Star team, and recognition as an All-State pitcher in Class LL.
In his junior year, Pirog was selected for the Junior Select All-Star team and the All-Conference team.
Over his entire high school career, he pitched 143 innings, achieving a 16-5 record with 182 strikeouts and a 1.70 ERA. His opponents had a batting average of just .214 against him,
with 115 hits allowed over 537 at-bats.
Some notable performances included leading Bristol Central to a 10-0 victory against New Britain on May 14, 2024, and pacing the team to a win in his 5 starts against Bristol Eastern. In his final start against Eastern this May, the victory gave Central the championship of the CCC South.
Pirog is not just an excellent pitcher and athlete. He has also excelled in the classroom, having been honored as a member of the CCC All-Academic Team. And he was among the group of athletes honored as 2024 Bristol Sports Hall of Fame Scholar-Athletes.
Pirog has recently announced that he plans to attend Keene State College in the fall and continue his baseball career there.
All TBE readers, supporters and donors
The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.
- Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
- Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.
Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
