Registrars of Voters announces deadlines for unaffiliated voter changes, new registrations prior to Aug. 13 state Republican primary

The office of the Registrars of Voters is available for residents who would like to register to vote for the first time or any unaffiliated voters wishing to change their party affiliation in order to participate in the Aug. 13 state Republican primary.

The office encourages voters to make any necessary changes to current or new voter registration status online by using the web address below: https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do.

New voters may submit mail-in applications and must be postmarked or received by Registrar of Voters by July 26. For unaffiliated voters, the mail-in application must be received (not merely postmarked) by the Registrar of Voters by July 26. In-person registration of a new voter or an unaffiliated voter will be accepted until 12 noon on Aug. 12.

Please note that the party transfer deadline was May 15, and anyone transferring from one party to another after this date is not eligible to vote in the state Republican primary.

Residents can also check their status online at www.dir.ct.gov/sots/lookup.aspx or call the office at (860) 584-6165.

The Registrars of Voters Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. All polling locations will be open on Primary Day, Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
