Students from Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott celebrated this year’s scholarship from Main Street Community Foundation at the annual MSCF Scholarship Reception earlier this month at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
Over 220 people attended the reception where a majority of this year’s awards were announced. This year a total of 167 students received of a over $334,874 in scholarships, each of which has a unique and personal story behind its creation as well as a donor committed to supporting the academic and career goals of students, the release from MSCF stated.
Students recognized are in various stages of their academic careers, from elementary and secondary school students to graduating high school seniors to students currently in college and career training. They will be continuing their education with the assistance of these scholarships in the fields of business, healthcare, criminal justice, journalism, education, engineering, visual arts and skilled trades.

- Lena M. & Peter L. Korotie Scholarship Fund awarded a scholarship grant to one student attending St. Paul Catholic High School

- Louise (Humphrey) Van Gorder Music Camp Scholarship Fund awarded a scholarship to one student with a passion for music to support attendance at a one-week camp experience at Laurel Music Camp
