By Drew a.k.a ZypherFusion

Hello Trainers!

Thank you so much for coming out for Pokémon Rockwell Go Fest 2024! I wanted to give a recap on what happened and I can assure that I will be hosting another one next year!

The Bristol Pokémon community is always growing and diverse, and Rockwell Park was the perfect setting to have this event. Making an event where people of all ages could come together, enjoy the game, and make new friends. More than that, it allows people to connect with each other for a common goal and explore the world around us.

The Pokémon Bristol GO Fest was packed with activities that catered to Trainers of all skill levels. From casual players to competitive battlers, there was something for everyone. Key highlights of the event included:

  1. Rare Pokémon Spawns: Rockwell Park was transformed into a hotspot for rare and sought-after Pokémon. Players roamed the park with their smartphones in hand, eagerly hunting for elusive creatures to add to their collections. Special lures and incense were activated throughout the day to increase the chances of encountering rare Pokémon. Every Ultra Beasts Pokémon and that Shiny Necrozma made it’s worldwide appearance.
  2. Team Challenges and Battles: Friendly competition was in the air as Trainers formed teams and participated in various challenges and battles. Gyms and PokéStops within the park became battlegrounds where players could test their skills and strategize to come out on top.
  3. Trading and Socializing: The event provided an excellent opportunity for players to trade Pokémon, complete their Pokédexes, and exchange tips and strategies. The trading hub was a bustling area where Trainers could negotiate trades and bond over their shared passion. The shiny Pokémon hunts ran ramped all over Bristol.
  4. Giveaways and Prizes: Generous sponsors contributed to the event, offering a range of prizes for participants. From rare in-game items to Pokémon-themed merchandise, there were plenty of rewards for those who took part in the activities. This was hosted by the legendary OddtoSee and OhThatPOGOPLAYER.
  5. Guided Tours and Workshops: For newcomers and those looking to improve their gameplay other experienced Trainers led guided tours and workshops. These sessions covered everything from basic gameplay mechanics to advanced battle strategies.

The Pokémon Bristol GO Fest was designed to be inclusive and family-friendly. Parents brought their children, introducing a new generation to the wonders of Pokémon. Rockwell Park’s natural beauty provided the perfect backdrop for families to enjoy a day outdoors, exploring, and connecting with nature while engaging in the game.

As the sun set over Rockwell Park, Trainers left with smiles on their faces, new friends, and plenty of Pokémon to show for their efforts. The Pokémon Bristol GO Fest was a shining example of how a shared passion for a game can bring people together and create lasting memories.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
