August is here with a bunch of new adventures

Hello Trainers!

August is now here! With these new upcoming events, get ready to stock up on some items, August will set summer ablaze.

Here is the Elite Raid Boss update! For those that had issues with this one the last time, Mega Rayquaza, a special global makeup event will be held for all Trainers on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time.

Defeat Mega Rayquaza in an Elite Raid, and you’ll earn an opportunity to catch Rayquaza. Check your Campfire app under the Bristol Battlers page for meet up locations.

Just a reminder for the raids, here are Pokémon and the times for each listed below, along with their locations:

Tornadus (Incarnate) – Through Aug. 3
Moltres – Aug. 3 to Aug. 12
Thundurus- Aug. 12 to Aug. 21
Xerneas – Aug. 21 to Sept. 3
Mega Aggron- Through Aug. 3

Mega Kangaskhan – Aug. 12 to Aug. 21

Lastly, the new Team Rocket event is upon us! In a new tweet, Niantic announced the next Team GO Rocket Takeover event titled Adventure Week: Taken Over. It will run from Aug. 8 at midnight to Aug. 12, at 11:59 p.m.

The event will bring Shadow Lugia as part of 5-star Shadow raids and Shadow Cresselia as part of Giovanni’s Special Research. Players will also be able to get Shadow variants of Timburr, Tirtouga, and Archen by battling Team GO Rocket Grunts.

Additionally, other raids will also feature the Shadow variants of Mareep, Wooper, Cranidos, Shieldon, Nuzleaf, Manectric and Vibrava. During this event, you can remove the Charged Move, Frustration, from your Pokémon and teach it a brand-new move!

Every team GO Rocket takeover event debuts a new powerful Legendary Shadow Pokémon into the game. For the Adventure Week takeover, that debut will be Shadow Cresselia. This Shadow Cresselia is through a new Special Research story that will be available when the event starts. Progress through it to receive a Super Rocket Radar and chase down Giovanni!

You can claim this Special Research until the end of Pokémon GO: Shared Skies on Sept. 3, at 9:59 a.m.
