BCHS senior wins prestigious scholarship, one of three from Connecticut

Bristol Central High School senior, Samera Alyosfi has received a $25,000 Horatio Alger Scholarship, it was announced by acting superintendent Bristol Public Schools Iris White this past weekend via ParentsSquare.

The scholarship is awarded to students from low-income communities who overcome significant challenges as they pursue higher education. The application is submitted junior year.

Alyosfi is one of three students in Connecticut and 105 from across the country to receive a national scholarship.

The Horatio Alger Association also awards state scholarship, career and technical scholarships and other targeted scholarships. For a list of 2024 winners and scholarship information, click here.
