The Bristol Public Library was recognized by a U.S. Veterans program and a collaborative focused on aging well, it was announced in a release late yesterday.

The Bristol Public Library received recognition as a “Top Performer” as a “Commemorative Partner with the Dept. of Defense’s Vietnam War Commemoration.”

“Your impressive dedication, energy, and engagement has identified you as a Top Performer, a Significant Partner instrumental in thanking and honoring more than four million of our Nation’s Vietnam veterans and their families in twenty=eight thousand events across the country since 2012,” the certificate with the honor reads in part.

The certificate is dated July 22, 2024.

The library also was recognized as a “Local Pick” as part of Age Well Across Connecticut, an initiative of the Connecticut Community Care. The certificate honors “places and programs that demonstrate age, dementia and disability inclusivity.”

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with finan
