Veterans program offers assistance through 2 p.m. today

Bristol is among six locations statewide for its annual “Stand Down” program offering assistance to military personnel and their families today through 2 p.m.

This “one stop” access to a range of programs and services offered by state and federal agencies, veterans organizations and community-based nonprofits is being held at St. Gregory CCD Center on Stafford Avenue.

Connecticut veterans, active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and immediate family are welcome. It is recommended that those seeking services bring DD-214, VA card or Connecticut ID with Veteran identifier.

Services include health and wellness, veterans benefits, mental health, housing resources, medical screenings, personal care items, clothing employment and legal.

In Bristol, representatives from 43 of these organizations will be available. They include the following:
