Bristol Central 41, Plainville 6

Bristol Central quarterback Donovan Rodriguez led the Rams to an easy win over Plainville Thursday night. Rodriguez threw two touchdown passes and ran for another TD as Central cruised to a 41-6 win at Bristol Central.

Rodriguez’s two-yard run opened the scoring and he later threw for touchdowns to Quincy Lawson and Jake DeVeau on passes of 49 and 25 yards.

DeVeau had a 26 yard run for a score.

Jayden Glasper led the Rams’ rushing attack with 62 yards on 7 carries.

Xavier Hairston led Plainville with 66 yards rushing on eight carries. He scored Plainville’s only touchdown on a 1 yard run in the fourth quarter.

East Catholic 18 Bristol Eastern 17

Bristol Eastern lined up for a game-winning field goal on the final play of the game, but the Lancer’s hopes were dashed when East Cathlolic blocked the kick as time expired and East Catholic came away with a hard-fought 18-17 victory Thursday night in Bristol.

For East, Chris Morales completed 9-of-15 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Drew DeLaura caught three passes for two scores, and Joey Montalvo caught six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown, including a 20 yard completion for the winning score in the third quarter.

Bristol Eastern got touchowns from Noah Albert on an 14 yard pass from Alex Corvo, and Lincoln Bashaw on an 2 yard run.

Gavin Damboise kicked a 27 yard field goal for Eastern in the second quarter.
