Bristol Central boys and girls cross country both split at 1-1 in action against Lewis Mills and Berlin

Cross Country

The Bristol Central cross country teams ran against Lewis Mills and Berlin in Burlington on Tuesday.

The Central boys defeated Berlin by a score of 18-45, but lost to Lewis Mills, 22-34.

Central’s girls also went 1-1 on the day, defeating Lewis Mills 15-50, but losing to Berlin, 19-44.

Coach Tamara Stafford-Kirk stated, “I’m happy the teams are at .500 on the season. We continue to be led by sophomores on the boys and girls sides, which is promising for us as we rebuild.”

Stafford-Kirk pointed to Captains Nick DiMatteo and Braydan Dwyer as positive leaders who are doing a great job encouraging an overall young team to believe in themselves and put in the hard work. She also praised Sophomore Captain Emersyn Mazzei, who continues to step up in workouts and races to lead a young girls team as well.

Both teams are now 2-2 on the season.

All TBE readers, supporters and donors

The Bristol Edition will be limiting the number of stories non-members and free readers may access each week. This decision is based on our financial projections and, most certainly, to remind people that TBE is serious about providing accurate, timely and thorough reporting for Bristol. To do this we have devised a financial support structure that makes unlimited access extremely affordable, beginning with a $6 monthly donation.

  • Non-members will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Free readers and people who have subscribed by email will be able to access four (4) articles per week.
  • Donors and financial supporters will have unlimited access as long as they log in.

Note: Donors may have to contact TBE if they find they are being limited, since we will need to set up a membership account for you. Email editor@bristoledition.org for instructions. Sorry for any inconvenience. People with financial difficulties may write editor@bristoledition.org to be considered for free access.
