Motorcyclist who died in Oct. 12 crash identified by Bristol Police

Bristol Police identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash in the area of the intersection at Oakland Street and Farmington Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Patrick McCool, 27, of Terryville was named as the motorcyclist who died when the vehicle he was operating failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, according to a Bristol Police Dept. release earlier this evening.

Prior to the accident, police officers traveling east on Farmington Avenue observed two motorcycles traveling in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed.

The officers turned around in an attempt to stop the motorcyclists and found that one of them had crashed.

Lifesaving measures were taken on the crash victim, who was transported to an area hospital, and there pronounced dead, according to the release.

Witnesses of the accident are encouraged to contact Officer Ryan Kosiba at (860)584-3035.
