The Bristol Sports Hall of Fame recently awarded the Bristol Central girls volleyball team a grant totaling $673.03.

The team, accompanied by coach, Lance Pepper, was presented with a ceremonial check, pictured above, on October 10, 2024.

The money will be used to purchase a custom volleyball net topper along with a color-coded net topper to assist their setters in learning about setting zones.

The BC varsity team made a State Finals appearance in 2022, a Class L State Semi-finals appearance in 2023, and were back-to-back CCC-South Champions in 2022 and 2023.

In addition to competing, the team has raised money for the Tunnel to Tower organization, Breast Cancer awareness, and collected school supplies for the Tommy Fund.

Central’s student athletes have been recognized on the AVCA Honor Roll, recognizing the program for having student athletes with GPAs in the top 20% nationally.

The Bristol Sports Hall of Fame is proud to provide grants to local 501©(3) organizations to support initiatives that honor, document and preserve distinctive contributions and achievements to the sports heritage of Bristol.

Non-profit organizations are encouraged apply for a BSHOF grant using the online application at their website, BSHOF.org.
