Henry F. Johnson, Jr., 82, of Terryville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 15. He was born on May 5,1942, in Bristol, son of the late Henry F. and Rose (DiFato) Johnson, Sr.
Henry was the loving husband of the late Lynda (Block) Johnson for 38 years before her passing in 2001. He was the owner of Johnson Service center for 35 years before he retired in 1996. Henry enjoyed working on all types of cars, bringing his family to Disney, watching westerns and going to the casino. He also enjoyed going to Canada every year with his dad and friends to go fishing. Most of all, he adored his wife, Lynda and cherished his time with his family.
Henry is survived by his sons Henry “Jay” F. Johnson, III, and his wife Debbie of Bristol, Tad Johnson, Sr. and his wife Brenda of Terryville; daughter Jennifer Frazier and her husband Kevin of AL; grandchildren Courtney Milton and her husband Joe of Bristol, Griffin Johnson and his wife Anna of Colorado, Tad Johnson, Jr. of Bristol, Brandon Johnson of Terryville; great-grandchildren Lily Mae Milton and Henry James Johnson; sister Marilyn Carter of Chester and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, Henry is predeceased by his brother Hiram Johnson.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol, from 9:30 a.m. until a funeral home service that will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Forestville Cemetery, Bristol.
