Sally Ann Checovetes, 67, of Bristol, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024. She was born on March 3, 1957 in Bristol, daughter of the late Francis and Ernestine (Baraglia) Fitzsimons.
Sally was the loving wife of Joseph Checovetes for 49 years. She worked at Stanley black and decker for several years and at UConn health for many years. Sally enjoyed traveling to Vermont to camp with her family and taking her dog, Charlie, for a walk. Most of all she adored and cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her husband Joseph, Sally is survived by her sons Shawn Checovetes and his partner Megan Conway of Bristol, Eric Checovetes and his partner Leah Duclos of Bristol; daughter Sheri Julian and her husband Eric of Bristol; grandchildren Alexis and Blake Julian; brothers Robert Fitzsimons and his wife Patricia of Wolcott, James Fitzsimons and his wife Lee-Ann of Florida, Gary Fitzsimons and his wife Karen of Pennsylvania; sister Lynn Parker of Bristol and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol starting at 4 p.m. until a funeral home service that will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will be held at the family’s convenience.
