The St. Paul Falcons football team boosted their season record to 2-4 with a commanding 32-14 victory over the Oxford High Wolverines at McPhee Field.

The game began with a strong start from the Wolverines, who took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter with touchdown runs of 22 and 9 yards.

After their slow start, the Falcons tightened up their defense and began their comeback.

St. Paul scored their first points with a safety when Matthew Fiorito made a crucial tackle in the Wolverines’ end zone. That brought the score to 14-2 with 4:45 remaining in the first half.

Shortly before halftime, Dan Taylor’s impressive 63-yard punt return cut the deficit to 14-10.

The second half was all about the Falcons’ dominance. Their defense shut down Oxford’s offense, while Max Coppetto took charge after QB Brady McManama was sidelined.

Coppetto, stepping into the spotlight, ran 13 times for 145 yards and scored two touchdowns, leading the Falcons’ offensive surge.

Over their last two games, the Falcons have outscored their opponents 73-14.

They will look to continue their winning streak on the road next Saturday with an afternoon game against Waterbury Career Academy.
