St. Paul Falcons show grit and promise in close loss to Waterbury Career Academy

The St. Paul Falcons put up an incredible fight, showcasing their tenacity and talent, in a spirited game against the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans, ultimately losing by score of 42-32.

Leading the charge for the St. Paul was Max Cappetto, who rushed for 56 yards and scored two touchdowns. Cappetto was outstanding on both offense and defense, as he also led the defense with an impressive 13 tackles.

Falcons quarterback Brady McManama kept the offense going by racking up an impressive 341 passing yards. He steered the Falcons to an impressive total of 444 yards of offense.

St. Paul’s offense was well-rounded, with Dan Taylor electrifying fans with an 85-yard kickoff return. Jack Dennehy and Ashton Bip showcased their receiving prowess. Dennehy snagged 6 catches for 106 yards, and Bip followed closely with 4 catches for 98 yards.

After the game, Coach Tony Mazzarella praised the team’s resilience and spirit: “I am proud of my guys. They showed no quit today,” he said. Coach Mazzarella added, “We are building something special here,” showing optimism and faith in the future of the Falcons’ program.

St. Paul’s current record stands at 2-5, but with performances like these, they’re building momentum and growing stronger each week.

Up next, St. Paul will host Seymour at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seymour is coming off three consecutive road losses, which means the Falcons will need to be ready to defend their home turf against a team eager for a win.
