A special presentation of “Lincoln Portrait” by Aaron Copland, narrated by Richard M. Carello, 1SG (retired), chairman of the Bristol Veterans Council, will be among the musical selections at “Salute to Veterans,” a Veterans Day Concert, to be held Sunday, Nov. 10, 3 p.m. at the Rockwell Theater on Memorial Boulevard.

The annual tribute, by the Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Kyle Camerato, in cooperation with the Bristol Veterans Council, is free and open to the public. Military veterans – past and present — are especially welcome.

Bristol Brass and Wind Ensemble will perform a varied selection of uplifting and dramatic musical pieces including “Armed Forces — The Pride of America!”; “Let Freedom Ring,” composed by Ryan Nowlin; “The Homefront: Musical Memories from World War II”; “Liberty, American Salute,” by Morton Gould; as well as a John Philip Sousa march or two.

The salute to our veterans continues on Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. when the Bristol Veterans Council holds their annual ceremony, also, at the Rockwell Theater.

Admission to the concert is free; however monetary donations are always greatly appreciated and accepted.  A portion of all donations received will go to the Bristol Veterans Council.  Visit www.bbandwe.org for more information.
