Bristol Eastern and Avon went back and forth in their volleyball match on Tuesday, and the result was in doubt until the last point was scored, but Avon was able to outlast the Lancers in a five set battle, 3-2.
Eastern dropped the first set by a score of 25-18, but came back with a close win in the second, 25-23.
Avon captured the third, 25-21, but the Lancers showed their heart with a fourth set victory by a score of 25-19.
It all came down to the final set, and Avon made the shots when they had to and advanced to the next round in the tournament with a 15-11 final set score.
Bristol Eastern was led by Naseem Hennouch, who had an incredible 54 assists, 2 aces, and 14 digs on the night. Harper Dauphinee had a great night at the net with 24 kills, 1 ace, and 28 digs. And Savannah Drury had a strong game as well with 17 kills, 7 aces, and 30 digs.
Eastern finished the year with a record of 10-10.
Avon is now 13-10 and moves on to face #1 seed Farmington today.
