An evening of laugh-out-loud comedy is coming to Bristol when the Daily Show Writers Comedy Tour takes the stage at the Rockwell Theater on Saturday, Nov. 16.
“I am personally excited to have a comedy act on stage with various backgrounds bringing belly laughs to the City of Bristol,” BPRYCS Arts and Culture Supervisor Ariana Therriault said. “These comedians are very talented with accolades to show for it, I think the audience will enjoy a night out in Bristol with some top-tier acts gracing the stage.”
The event will feature four talented writers from the Emmy Award-winning late-night program The Daily Show for a night of laughter and sharp, political satire. The comedy lineup includes Kat Radley, Joe Opio, and Randall Otis, all known for their wit, engaging personalities, and distinctive comedic styles. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m.
Kat Radley, who studied improv at the esteemed Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, brings her signature observational humor and witty voice to the stage. Ugandan-born comedian Joe Opio is an observational satirist who has performed all over the world. Before joining “The Daily Show” writing staff, Opio hosted the political satire talk show LOL Uganda. Randall Otis is celebrated for his energetic stage presence and his engaging stories and performances.

The highly anticipated comedy show will be the second national comedy tour to perform at the historic Rockwell Theater, following this past spring’s “Funny Women of a Certain Age” tour. Therriault stated that she feels that comedy shows are a good fit for the 620-seat art deco venue.
“I think it’s a good fit because comedy is a wonderful thing to have at a theater,” Therriault said.
“The Daily Show,” a late-night talk and news satire program on Comedy Central, has been a staple of American television since 1996. The show has won 24 Primetime Emmy Awards for its sharp political commentary and humorous take on current events. The writers behind these segments will bring their personal stories and jokes to the Bristol audience.
In addition to the hilarious entertainment, the Rockwell Theater is now offering delicious cuisine at the show. For those looking to enjoy some snacks or a light meal, the concession stand is offering a menu of freshly made food and drinks during the show. Options include personal pizzas, hot dogs, popcorn, nachos and a variety of hot and cold beverages.
The Daily Show Writers Comedy Tour will be held on Saturday Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Rockwell Theater located at 70 Memorial Boulevard. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; tickets are $45. For more information about the upcoming show, visit the Downtown Live Website.
