The Bristol Water and Sewer Department has announced that they will continue the 2024 hydrant flushing program on Monday, November 18.
The following areas may be affected:
Winterberry Circle, Summerberry Circle, Nursery Circle, Terryville Avenue, Smith Street, Sand Hill Road, Ridgecrest Lane, Empire Way, Maureen Drive, Perkins Street, Tanglewood Road, Peacedale Street, Norwood Road, Westwood Road, Hart Street, Whipporwill Lane, and some of the surrounding areas.
The Water Department will continue flushing this area until the next area is posted.
They will flush hydrants on these streets and the adjacent areas starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m., to allow customers to run their cold water until it runs clear.
Low pressure and discolored water is to be expected during flushing and for short periods afterwards. They recommend you refrain from washing clothes during this period. You should run an outside faucet or the cold water in your bathtub until the water runs clear. http://www.bristolct.gov//AlertCenter.aspx?AID=307
