Two days before Thanksgiving Bridge Community Church in partnership with the Lauren E. Avezzie Charitable Foundation and the Bristol Board of Education delivered bags of food for Thanksgiving to over 100 families in Bristol.

“Eighteen years ago, Lauren Avezzie tragically lost her life in a drowning accident,” said Bridge Community Church pastor Todd Williams in a statement on Facebook. “In the face of heartbreak, her parents, David and Cindy, chose to honor her memory by starting the Lauren Avezzie Foundation, bringing hope and good to countless lives.”

“One of their incredible initiatives is the annual turkey giveaway here in Bristol, and Bridge Church is honored to partner with them again this year!”

On Tuesday, Nov. 26, church volunteers distributed Thanksgiving dinners to over 120 families identified by the Bristol Board of Education as needing support, Williams said.

“The Foundation provided over 1,500 pounds of turkeys from Pat’s IGA, and generous donations from Bridge Community Church attendees made the rest of the Thanksgiving dinners possible,” he wrote.
