All night parking ban and ticketing for unshoveled sidewalks begins Dec 15

The overnight parking ban on public streets and enforcement of sidewalk clearing begins Sunday, Dec. 15, the Bristol Police Dept. announced.

As outlined in Bristol city ordinance 14-32, no vehicles may park on any city street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Parking tickets per overnight violation are $20. The fine doubles after seven days and triples after 14 days.

The overnight parking ban ends on March 15, 2025.

Anytime a winter storm occurs, residents need to make sure their sidewalks are cleared of
snow after each storm.

If the storm ends between the hours of 3 a.m. and 9 p.m. all sidewalks must be cleared within 12 hours. If the storm ends between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. all sidewalks must be cleared within nine hours per City of Bristol ordinance 21-23.

Uncleared sidewalks may be reported to Public Works, who will clear the sidewalks and charge the cost to the property owner. The fine for violating this ordinance is $75 for each offense.
