Water service will be temporarily shut off on Alder Street, including parts of Crescent Drive and Curtiss Street near North Main Street, today, Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, for emergency water main repairs.
The shutoff is expected to impact surrounding areas, which may also experience low water pressure during the repair process. When water service is restored, residents may notice discolored water. If this occurs, officials recommend running an outside faucet or using only cold water in the bathtub until the water clears.
For customers facing an extended service interruption, a water filling station is available at the Water Filtration Plant, located at 1080 Terryville Avenue. The station is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and there is no charge for affected customers. Residents must bring their own containers to fill, and Filtration Plant operators will assist with the process.
Customers are encouraged to call the Water Filtration Plant at (860) 583-6504 prior to arrival to ensure a smooth experience.
