Emergency construction causes water service interruption on Burlington Avenue

Water service will be temporarily interrupted today, Dec. 10, on Burlington Avenue between Lewis Street and Birge Road due to emergency construction work. Surrounding areas may also experience a period of low water pressure during this time.

Once service is restored, customers may notice discolored water. If this occurs, it is recommended to run an outside faucet or the cold water in the bathtub until the water clears.

For customers affected by an extended water service interruption, a water filling station is available at the Water Filtration Plant, located at 1080 Terryville Avenue. The station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is free of charge. Customers are asked to bring their own containers. Filtration Plant operators will assist with filling them.

To ensure assistance, customers are encouraged to call the Water Filtration Plant in advance at (860) 583-6504.
