The Bristol Central’s girls basketball team will travel across town to the BE gym tonight. They will face Bristol Eastern in what has to be the earliest scheduled contest in the history of the rivalry.

For both teams, this is the second game of the season. The Rams opened on Friday with a 40-35 victory on the road over Berlin. The Lancers lost their opener at Northwest Catholic in a close game broken open by Northwest in the final period.

Both teams have high hopes for a successful season. Both were very young last year, and valuable varsity experience was attained by the playing of many freshmen and sophomores.

Central has no seniors on their roster. They will be looking for leadership from Nicole Riemer. She is a junior who led last year’s team in scoring.

Junior Autumn Udoh led Eastern in scoring last year. The Lancers will look to seniors Amanda Noel and Leah Roy as leaders on the floor.

Game time tonight is set for 7:00.
