The Bristol Central girls played a dominant defense against Bristol Eastern Monday night. They shut down everything the Lancers tried to run against them. The Rams cruised to a 44-26 win over Eastern in the Lancerdome. Kamaria Bowens led Central with an impressive debut of 21 points.

Bowens displayed an ability to penetrate and score, both in transition and set offenses. She also dished out several assists on her way to the hoop. Nicole Riemer scored 13 points from some of those assists. She also did impressive work on the boards for Central.

Autumn Udoh led the Lancer offense with 11 points, but was never able to get any space to operate, as Central constantly double and triple teamed her any time she touched the ball.

Udoh was still a force for the Lancers, especially on defense as she had multiple blocks of Central’s attempted lay-ins.

Olivia Louis was a defensive standout for Central. She recorded multiple steals and took several charges to totally frustrate the Eastern perimeter players.

Central is now 2-0 on the season, and hosts Enfield on Thursday night.

Eastern drops to 0-2 and plays Berlin on Thursday at the Lancer gym.
