With Christmas just weeks away, American Legion Post 2 spread holiday cheer by delivering donations to four local nonprofits chosen by its members. Three of the donations were delivered Thursday afternoon, with the final one set for next week.

The afternoon of giving began at City Hall, where officers from Post 2 made a donation to the Veteran Strong Community Center. The donation was aimed at providing assistance to fellow veterans in need this holiday season.

The next stop was Brian’s Angles, a local nonprofit supporting individuals with brain injuries. Although the center’s director was unavailable, a volunteer accepted the donation on her behalf.

The final stop of the afternoon was the Salvation Army Church, where Post 2 made its third donation. As the pastor was not present, a volunteer accepted the donation in his stead.

The fourth donation is scheduled to be delivered next week.

American Legion Post 2 has a long history of supporting local veterans and community organizations, especially during the holiday season. This year’s donations are part of the post’s ongoing commitment to helping those in need in Bristol.
