The Eastern boys basketball team dominated from start to finish in posting an impressive win over Berlin Friday night, 65-36.
Bristol Eastern jumped out to an early big lead. The Lancers led by 13 after the first quarter. And they never really took their feet off the gas. They held Berlin to four points in the second stanza while scoring 19 themselves. The 25 point halftime cushion marked the end for the Redcoats. They couldn’t get any closer in the second half.
Zaveyn Tate dominated inside for the Lancers, scoring at will on a variety of lay-ups and pull-up jumpers to post a 22 point night. Jordan Chisolm scored 17, and Naseem Walker added 13 for Eastern. The two combined to hit eight treys as Eastern moved the ball to the open shooter on almost every possession.
On the defensive end, the Lancers shut off attempted drives by Berlin’s guards, while Tate and Brady Bell controlled the boards all night, holding the Redcoats to one shot on almost every possession.
Eastern is now 1-1. They travel to RHAM High School for a 5:00 start on Monday.
