Contributed by the Bristol Chorale
This holiday season, The Bristol Chorale delivered a heartwarming and festive performance, “Love & Joy,” that proved to be nothing short of magical. Led by Andrew Skinner, who was conducting the choir for the first time, the afternoon was a jubilant celebration of both the season and the choir’s collective spirit.
Skinner, with his thoughtful leadership and deep passion for music, brought a fresh energy to the group. The program, which included a mix of beloved holiday classics, spirituals, eclectic arrangements, and moments of joyful harmony, struck a perfect balance between tradition and cultural celebration.
A standout moment of the concert was the choir’s rendition of “Glow,” written by Edward Esch and arranged by Eric Whitacre. The performance beautifully showcased the vocal talent of the ensemble, as well as the meticulous care Skinner put into crafting the musical experience. The choir’s harmonies were rich and vibrant, filled with warmth, a fitting tribute to the holiday spirit.
Unity was another defining feature of the performance. Whether performing in powerful unison or delicate, blended harmonies.
This concert marks the beginning of what promises to be a memorable year for The Bristol Chorale, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025.
