By Joey Pikiell

The Bristol Central boys basketball team had a tough matchup against Hall High School Wednesday night. Hall led from start to finish in a 77-58 victory over the Rams.

Hall came out firing on all cylinders in the first period. The Titans scored 10 points in the first two minutes of the game.

Central Coach Tim Barrette called a timeout to get his team to regroup.  The Rams responded and found themselves trailing by 5 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter saw Hall shooting at a high percentage which Central was not able to match. The Rams found themselves down by 12 at halftime.

Bristol Central came out for the second half ready to play and went on a run of their own. The Rams cut the lead, but their run didn’t last long. Hall regained their composure and ended up with a lead of 14 points heading into the fourth.

In the final period, the Titans slowly added to the margin until the final horn sounded with the score 77-58.

Joey Pikiell was the leading scorer for Bristol Central with 11 points, including two three-pointers.  Gavin Chamberlin had 10 points and 6 rebounds, while Quincy Lawson contributed 9 points and 8 rebounds to the BC cause.

Bristol Central’s next game is Friday, December 10th against Simsbury.  The last time the Rams faced off against Simsbury, the game went into overtime with Simsbury emerging with the victory.
