The Bristol Eastern boys basketball team traveled to West Hartford on Saturday afternoon to play against Northwest Catholic and was defeated by the score of 82-35. It was never close.
The Lions of Northwest set the tone early, shooting 10-of-11 (including four 3’s) from the floor in the first quarter and going out to a 26-13 lead. It was a 15-13 game, NWC ahead, with 2:45 to go in the quarter. NWC then outscored Eastern 9-0 to end the quarter.Jordan Chisholm scored nine points in the quarter for the Lancers.
The Lions then outscored BE by a 17 – 8 margin in the second period and raced out to a 43- 21 halftime lead. They made 16 of 26 shots in the half, a torrid 65% shooting percentage.
In the second half, Northwest outscored Eastern 39-14. The Lancers never really threatened the rest of the way.
For Eastern, the leading scorers were Chisholm with 15, Zaveyn Tate with 8, and Brady Bell with 7.
Northwest had three players in double figures, Anthony Thompson with 17, Drew Dargati with 16, and Ryan Tolliver with 14.
Eastern is now 6-3, while Northwest improves to 7-1.
Eastern will host Platt next Tuesday, and travel to Glastonbury on Friday.
